Home services in Kenya are fragmented across informal networks, making it difficult for clients to find reliable, vetted providers and for providers to reach new customers. No unified booking system exists across the 13+ service categories, payment infrastructure is limited to cash or mobile transfers with no escrow or dispute resolution, and there is no loyalty programme to incentivise repeat engagement from either side of the marketplace.

Built a headless marketplace with Laravel 12 API backend featuring 33 Eloquent models and a Next.js 16 frontend. Implemented provider profiles with compliance verification workflows, booking management with scheduling and status tracking, real-time messaging via Laravel Reverb and Pusher, multi-gateway payments through Paystack, M-Pesa, and Stripe, a loyalty rewards programme, CMS-driven content management, PWA capabilities for mobile access, Capacitor-based Android deployment, 20+ complete CRUD modules for all marketplace operations, 4-tier testing strategy covering unit, visual, accessibility, and performance tests, and CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
